51. Heineken Jazzaldia Festival in San Sebastian

On various locations spread across the city, the 51. Heineken Jazzaldia Festival took place covering different styles of music.
The “Green Stage” on the beach has been fully equipped again with the TW AUDiO VERA36 system including the monitoring system comprising of TW AUDiO components.

Although the weather was rather unstable, it didn’t stop the numerous fans from listening to the concerts of all the great musicians of Jazz, Blues and Soul on the beach.

John Nemeth, an American electric Blues and Soul harmonicist from Idaho was opening act on the “Green Stage”, followed by the legendary Jazz-Pop-Disco Queen Gloria Gaynor performing her ever popular titel “I will survive”.

The following days have shown a mix of Jazz, Indie Folk, Blues Rock, Rhythm & Blues and Soul & Funk. From Zestoa, a small town in the Basque Country, the Rural Zombies performed to the audience in Spanish. This year, a lot of musicians from the US were invited to play. Ryley Walker, a singer / songwriter from Idaho, Snarky Puppy, a collective of musicians performing with no less than 40 musicians on stage, Nick Waterhouse from sunny California and the Latin-Funk band Groupo Fantasma. The last concert featured Charles Bradley & His Extraordinairies. Also known as “The Screaming Eagle of Soul”, the well-known singer is often compared with the likes of James Brown and Otis Redding.
