La Raiz Sells Out in Madrid with VERA36

As one of Spain’s most popular bands, La Raiz deliver a brutally energetic infusion of rock, ska, and hip hop that both thrills audiences and challenges loudspeaker systems in equal measure. Following four studio albums and a string of hit singles, the 11 piece group most recently undertook a 24-date tour of Spain, including the filming of a live DVD from a sold-out, 10,000 capacity Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid. Suitably impactive sound reinforcement was provided for the event courtesy of a TW AUDiO VERA36 line array solution.

Comprising left and right hangs of 12 VERA36 cabinets per side, plus out-fills of eight VERA36 per-side, the system was provided by Simes Audio of Valencia, with design and support by Soinua Pro, TW AUDiO distributor for Spain and Portugal.

Low frequencies were handled by 24 S33 18”/15” hybrid subwoofers in cardioid mode together with three dual 21” BSX subwoofers in a cardioid configuration, arrayed across the front of the stage. Ten passive VERA10 enclosures provided front-fill coverage across the stage lip.

Following the event, front of house engineer David Ferri was quick to praise the TW AUDiO rig. “In my opinion VERA36 is one of the very few line arrays that can handle the huge dynamic range and very high energy level that La Raiz delivers,” he declared. “With 11 performers on stage, the mix can get busy, so I need to create space for them all – VERA36 has the clarity and power to achieve that. The PA rocks!”
