Dalí, Warhol…and now VERA20i at the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf

The Kunstpalast in the heart of Düsseldorf, has a rich tradition to its name, having been an art museum for more than 300 years.

From Rubens and Richter through to razors, hardly any other museum in Germany matches the wide range of the collection comprising more than 100,000 items. The Kunstpalast unites virtually all artistic genres and a variety of eras. Visitors are invited to embark on a journey through art history, starting with paintings, sculptures as well as prints and drawings from the medieval and modern periods through to Modernist classics and contemporary art. Applied arts and design objects as well as a unique glass collection complement the holdings to form a collection of an unparalleled diversity.

But there is more to expect in the Kunstpalast:

The Robert-Schumann-Saal, which was built in 1946, serves as a connecting element between art and music. The plans for extensive modernisation have been realised by world-renowned architect professor O.M. Ungers and offers an attractive forum for a variety of internally and externally organised cultural events as a classical music chamber hall with its distinctive interior design and undeniably excellent acoustics since the re-opening in September 2001.

The Kunstpalast is acclaimed for its active and aspiring program and calls an exceptional international reputation its own. The standard of the program imposed by the organisers is very high, as is the demand on the newly installed TW AUDiO sound system that has recently been installed in the Robert-Schumann-Saal.

After long project phase and a shoot-out with other leading manufacturers, the decision was made to invest in a TW AUDiO system in the shape of the installation version of VERA20, the VERA20i and a matching, especially for this installation individualized version of the S32 subwoofer, a flyable S32i. Several C5 and T20i loudspeaker were installed to be used as adaptive system and front fill.

“The decision to opt for TW AUDiO was not only because of the outstanding and natural sound of the VERA20 system during the shoot-out, but also due to the very collegial, inspiring and team orientated manner of TW AUDiO right from the start”, explains Andreas Nabrotzky, technical director of the Kunstpalast. “The TW AUDiO team has been very supportive with their application experience and were a constant inspiration in terms of innovative thinking throughout the entire installation period.”

Bastian Erhard, the deputy technical director adds: “TW AUDiO prepared the whole project expertly which as a result lead to an uncomplicated and time efficient installation without disturbing the daily business of the Kunstpalast. After having completed the initial introduction of the ArmoníaPlus software we are very much looking forward to our first event with VERA20i.”
